Banner Printing

These banners are suitable for outdoor or indoor use and are especially suited to indoor use as they exhibit none of the unpleasant outgassing that occurs with solvent printed banners. The print quality is very high and the colours vibrant, making them suitable for use where your audience will see them up close.

You can choose from:

• HDPE Reinforced Banner (indoor/outdoor). This is a light weight and RECYCLABLE alternative to traditional PVC scrim banners. Ideal for banners, retail needs, signage solutions, and street pole banners. At just 180 gsm, HP HDPE Reinforced Banner offers strength equal to or greater than most standard 440 gsm PVC scrim products. Recyclable where local facilities permit, or just return to us for recycling. Display permanence rating guide of 1+ years outdoor without lamination, 1+ years indoor in or near windows without lamination and 100+ years away from direct sunlight.*
• PVC Scrim Banner 440gsm (indoor/outdoor). This is a traditional scrim banner material. Display permanence rating guide of 6+ months outdoor without lamination, 6+ months indoor in or near windows without lamination and 6+ months away from direct sunlight.*

* Display permanence ratings are a general guide only and actual durability will be affected by many other factors. For example, where a product is subject to mechanical abrasion the useful life will be reduced significantly, but a print that is kept out of direct sunlight and without large variations in temperature and humidity may last for far longer than the guide.

Choose whatever size you need in either mm or feet.

If you need something extra, extra wide, this page will ask you to call the helpdesk to discuss. We can probably still manufacture it for you, but we need to have a chat to discuss the project before we can give you a price.

Likewise, we like to have a quick chat before accepting orders on any banners longer than 3.3M in any direction as the artwork needs a bit more preparation and there are some other technical issues to discuss.

Choose the quantity that you want here. Don't worry if you want different banners (for example, you order 3 banners, but want them all different), the price is still the same. Make sure that you have a chat with the helpdesk if this is the case (different banners) so that we known how many of each type you want.

Hemming means that the edge of the banner is doubled over for extra strength. This is useful when you want to put the banner outdoors, or it's an especially large or heavy banner. It can be in the way sometimes - for instance if you are using an indoor hanging system that can't accept a thick edge. HDPE Reinforced Banner is often used indoors without hemming, either with or without eyelets.

Eyeletting means that circular eyelets are inserted around the edge of the banner. These are useful for attaching the banner to bungee cords or rope. We use clear plastic recyclable eyelets and generally insert them no more than 70cm apart (actual spacing will depend on the size of the banner).

These are WORKING days to print and we classify Monday-Friday as working days, Bank Holidays are not working days. Please remember to ADD delivery time to this. Delivery is normally 1 working day. If you want a Saturday delivery, call the helpdesk to get that cost added to your order.

Once your order is scheduled, you'll get an email confirming which day we're sending it. We can't schedule your job to print until we've had a quick check of it. If you don't have a credit account with us, you'll need to pay for your job before we can schedule it to print.

Delivery is normally the next working day AFTER the job is printed. If you want a Saturday delivery, call the helpdesk to get that cost added to your order. We classify Monday-Friday as working days, Bank Holidays are not working days.

These banners are printed using HP Latex printing technology, which is suitable for outdoor or indoor use. HP Latex printing is especially suitable for indoor use as it exhibits none of the unpleasant outgassing that occurs with banners printed using solvent based equipment, making these prints odour free from day one. The print quality is very high and the colours are vibrant, making it suitable for use where your audience will see them up close.

Durability typically outperforms eco-solvent ink and is comparable to low solvent ink technology with prints offering display permanence of 1+ years unlaminated outdoors and significantly more indoors. The water-based formulations of HP Latex Inks reduce the impact of printing on the environment, especially when combined with fully recyclable HP HDPE Reinforced Banner material.

Inky uses genuine HP Latex inks.

PDF, JPEG or TIFF - all are fine, but generally you'll get the best results from a properly created PDF.

For larger banners you'll probably need to create a scaled down version of your artwork, for example 1/4 size. We'll then blow it up to the right size for you. For images, it's difficult to give you a precise "minimum" dpi (ppi) to aim for. Background images at around 80dpi usually look fine from a distance, but for close up viewing you're better off aiming for 150dpi+. Text is MUCH better to be left as text in a PDF if you can, not converted to a bitmap (picture). That way it scales up without pixellation.

You also need to know about BLEEDS. If you have background images or colour that goes right to the edge of the banner we need a bit of extra artwork to play with (there's plenty of help on the site if you want to learn more). How much depends on how long the banner is. 3-6mm is fine for most banners, but we might need 10mm or even more for the very longest. Don't worry too much if your artwork doesn't have a bleed area, we'll create one by enlarging it. The golden rule is: don't have anything vital too close to the edge as you might lose it.

These prices are just for the printing, but we can do artwork for you as well. You'll need to have a chat with the helpdesk to work out a price and we'll add that to your order. Unless you need original artwork created (like a logo), then banners don't take a lot of artwork time! If it's a simple matter of laying out your text and images, we can normally do that in 15-30 minutes.
